Course Description

Objectives of the Programme

Diploma in Marketing and Sales is designed primarily for those who wish to have a deeper understanding of conceptual and technical knowledge of marketing and sales. The programme exposes students to marketing policies and selling processes to enhance the ability of students to use appropriate marketing tools and selling techniques to reach the sales targets. It encompasses subjects from other related disciplines to ensure students are well rounded to engage in marketing and sales functions successfully on the job.

Contents of the Programme

The programme consists of 8 modules spread over 2 semesters as given below:

Semester 1

  • Principles of Marketing and Sales
  • Principles of Business Administration
  • Introduction to Organizational Behaviour
  • Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning Model

Semester 2

  • Introduction to Strategic Management
  • Consumer Behaviour Theories
  • Business Communication Skills
  • Product and Pricing Strategies

Entry Requirements

General entry requirements:

  • Successful completion of Higher Secondary Education OR attainment of a Level 4 qualification in a related field OR attainment of a Level 4 Foundation study programme approved for the specific Diploma programme

Alternative entry requirements:

  • Completion of a Level 4 qualification (unrelated), and successful completion of an MQA-approved University Preparation Programme OR 20 years old, completion of Secondary School, 2 years of relevant work experience, and successful completion of an MQA-approved University Preparation Programme

Other Details of the Programme

  • Credits: 120
  • Duration: 1 Year
  • Assessments: One individual assignment, one group assignment and an end of term exam every semester
